SalGenie Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 6, 2026

This policy explains how SalGenie AI Try-On handles information when merchants use the Shopify app and shoppers use its AI Try-On experience.

Image privacy at a glance

1. Who this policy covers

SalGenie is operated by Md. Khairul Islam, an independent developer operating under the SalGenie name. For support and privacy enquiries, contact salgenieteam@gmail.com.

This policy covers merchants who install SalGenie, shoppers who choose to use a store’s SalGenie AI Try-On experience, and visitors to this website. A store’s own privacy policy also applies to its purchases, customer accounts, and use of shopper contact details.

A merchant decides how the app is offered on its storefront. A shopper’s decision to use Try-On does not, by itself, mean they have agreed to unrelated marketing.

2. Images used for AI Try-On

Original shopper photo

When a shopper chooses AI Try-On, their uploaded photo is processed to create the requested personalized product preview. The original photo is not stored.

Generated Try-On image

The generated output is retained temporarily so the shopper can view the result. It is automatically deleted within 7 days.

Signed URL access

A generated image is accessible only through a signed URL. The signed URL can remain valid for up to 7 days and does not extend the image’s maximum seven-day retention period.

Automatic deletion from SalGenie does not remove a copy that a shopper has independently downloaded or shared.

3. How Try-On images are used

SalGenie uses shopper photos and generated outputs only to provide the requested AI Try-On experience. Shopper-uploaded photos and generated Try-On outputs are not used to train or fine-tune AI models.

Try-On results take around 7–15 seconds on average. Actual time may vary depending on shopper traffic and internet connection speed. If you have a question about a specific image or Try-On session, contact us using the details below.

4. Other information used by the service

Depending on how a merchant uses SalGenie, the service may handle information such as:

  • Store and app information: information needed to manage SalGenie from Shopify Admin.
  • Usage and billing information: credit use, the selected plan, and information needed to calculate charges.
  • Lead information: an email address or phone number shared during the Try-On flow.
  • Support information: the details a merchant or shopper provides when asking for help.

The seven-day image deletion period does not necessarily apply to other records such as billing, store, lead, or support information. Ask about information associated with your store through the support route.

5. Why information is used

Information is used to deliver requested Try-Ons, capture shopper details during that journey, calculate app charges, show key Try-On activity and shopper engagement in the SalGenie dashboard, respond to support requests, and operate the service.

Merchants are responsible for explaining how they use email addresses and phone numbers received through their storefront. Try-On results are visual illustrations and do not guarantee a product’s exact fit or real-world appearance.

6. Operating the service

SalGenie uses its own self-hosted custom AI models to create Try-On images. Runpod, Hetzner, and Cloudflare provide cloud infrastructure used to operate the service and deliver generated results.

The same image rules apply throughout the Try-On flow: the original shopper photo is not stored, generated outputs are available only through signed URLs, outputs are automatically deleted within 7 days, and neither shopper uploads nor generated outputs are used for AI training.

Merchants who need more information about service operations or privacy practices can use privacy support or email salgenieteam@gmail.com.

7. This website

The website includes an interactive Try-On design preview and pricing calculator. The design preview does not upload a shopper image or create a Try-On result, and choosing a plan here does not charge a store.

Links to Shopify and other websites take you to services with their own privacy practices.

8. Your choices and requests

Shoppers can choose whether to use AI Try-On and whether to share an email address or phone number during the journey.

To ask about information held by a store, contact that store first. For SalGenie-related privacy questions, use our privacy support instructions. Include the store domain and the type of request; do not attach a shopper photo.

Depending on where you live and the information involved, applicable law may give you rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict use of personal information, withdraw consent, or complain to a privacy authority. We will handle requests in accordance with applicable requirements.

9. A notice merchants can adapt

Our store offers AI Try-On through SalGenie. If you choose to use it, your photo is processed to create a personalized product preview and the original is not stored. The result is accessible only through a signed URL and is automatically deleted within 7 days. Neither the uploaded photo nor the generated output is used to train AI models. You may also be invited to share your email address or phone number during the Try-On journey.

Adapt this explanation to your store’s actual use of SalGenie and place it alongside your store’s own privacy notice.

10. Policy changes and contact

When this policy changes, the update date at the top of the page will change. Read the current policy before using the service. Contact Md. Khairul Islam, the developer operating SalGenie, at salgenieteam@gmail.com for support and privacy questions. Shoppers can also contact the store where they used try-on. See Support for what to include.
